Nikon 1 – J1 review

Nikon 1 – J1 review

There’s no shortage of digital camera reviews on the internet and in magazines. Most reviews are focused on the technical specifications or comparing the new gear next to existing systems, if you want to know about specifications then take a look at the last page of this review. Here at photo-i, as you may know from our interactive reviews, we like to take a different look at things. With this in mind we are pleased to bring you our “photo-i User Review” format.

The Nikon 1 camera was launched in September 2011, and in this short time it has become an instant success, it’s currently the best selling mirror less camera available. We have been using the J1 camera extensively for past few weeks and are happy to publish an unbiased opinion on this camera. The Nikon 1 is available in two versions the J1 and the V1. The J1 uses the rear LCD screen for focusing and composing shots, whereas the V1 has an electronic viewfinder and a higher resolution LCD screen (921,000 dots compared to 460,000 dots on the J1). The V1 also has a 3.5mm audio input, but other than that the two models offer more or less the  same features.
