HP8350 – Comparable print quality to 8450?

Postby Idlebull » Thu Jan 04, 2007 9:20 am

I have read that this printer uses the same inks as the 8450 and that I should expect similar performance.

The question is, how does the 8450 stand up to todays printers? I notice it is being heavily discounted and assume it’s on it’s way out.

The 8350 is a new printer, but with old inks, I’m looking for a worthwhile upgrade to my ageing Photosmart P1000, and like the idea of A3+ printing as an option.

It is a pity HP don’t provide the demo print facilities that Epson and Canon do on their web sites, it’s a great idea!

I think you'll find that the printer gives as good a colour reproduction as most of the latest pritners - improvements are, if anything marginal. These dye ased printers need the correct papers and print storage to avoid fading...

Thanks. the A4 version got a glowing review on this site and the A3+ version has been compared to it elswhere..

I'm not bothered about keeping my prints 100 years or whatever, I'll be long gone and they'll all be on whatever digital media is the current trend anyway.

I'm looking for improved quality over my Photosmart P1000, which should be acheived with any 2year old or newer printer, and I want good value, and just over £200 for an A3+ printer seems pretty good value to me, even if the technology has been superceeded!

Thanks

Nick

There's some comments about the B8350 in this thread.
