HP D7360 Compared to Canon 7600D

Postby JustinL » Sun Mar 04, 2007 3:16 pm

Hi all,

I am new here and found the website very informative. I am looking to purchase a new Photo Printer and have narrowed it down to the HP D7360 and the Canon 6700D. The review on the Canon is excellent however there doesn't seem to be much discussion on the HP.

If anyone has seen them both and can comment it would be greatly appreciated. The most confusing aspect for me that the Canon in terms of pri nt technolgy seems so far ahead of the HP ie 9600DPI compared to 4800, I am wondering if this a true reflection of print quality or just more statistics.

Thanks for any advice

Ignore the statistics. Manufacturers are really good at bragging about numbers in isolation. Compare some sample prints. Look at the reviews. Look at the running costs. Then when you have a winner, compare prices to see if it's worth the extra.

In real terms you'll be lucky to see even 300dpi real resolution out of an ink jet printer, no matter how many dpi it quotes.

Thanks fo rthe advice, I somehow thought that might be be the case. I am actually now considering the Pixma 5300 seeing I don't need the LCD screen and it seems the 5300 is a better all round printer for both text and photo's.
