CD Label printing

Postby george.gm » Sun Jun 03, 2012 12:09 pm

I have bought a Tesco "exPRESS-IT kit which is supposed to make it possible
to print labes onto CD's
It says : Click Start Click Run Type D:install.exe and click OK
I have done all this but nothing happens.
Any ideas ?

What form does this kit come in George ?

If its a CD/DVD, then use windows explorer to navigate to the CD
find "install" on it and double click it. That should make it run

Thanks Costas.
I found the CD and installed the programme.
Don't think much of it though - a bit fiddly for me.
Perhaps I will stick to my black marker pen.

You often get free software for designing and laying out labels with printers that provide label printing on CD/ DVD's. Check the web site for your printer - you might be lucky.

There is always LightScribe which includes basic "label" creation software. Not exactly speedy but ok if you pass it through a couple of times. I would never use a label on a modern DVD. They run so fast the label can upset the balance and introduce vibration. This may in turn affect the laser and make it harder to read the media. As per my previous post if you do anything to slow down the process you start to negate the benefit of fast media.

I used an Epson 950 to print onto CD/DVD, 3rd party inks made it fairly economical.

I have been using Verbatim printable DVDs together with an EPSON PX 720WD printer with EPSON Print CD/DVD software. This produces excellent quality labels, although their are design limitations if you want to be more creative. Generally I have avoided stick on labels ever since one came off whilst in my player. Also the glue used on some of the cheaper brands may destroy the plastic of the CD/DVD over time. The same could be true for marker pens.
