If you have an earlier version of Photoshop (CS2, CS, or PS7) you don't have to go to the trouble of extracting the files. Just copy the 2 files from their folders in one of the earlier versions into the corresponding folders in cs3.
And here is what I did:
1) I copied the "HP Photosmart Pro print plug-in for Photoshop.8li" file
(that's the actual name of the file!!) from the PS7 \Plug-Ins
\Photoshop-Only \Actions folder to the CS3 \Plug-Ins \Actions folder (there is no folder "Photoshop Only" in CS3);
2) I copied the file <HPHiddenExport.8be> from the PS7 \Plug-Ins
\Import-Export folder to CS3 \Plug-Ins \Import-Export folder.
And BINGO it works like a charm. CS3 opens the print plug in and prints.

I like the print plug-in. Without it I wasted a lot of paper!
