I must apologise before saying this, but, these disjointed reviews with no timely follow-up or explanation, are very frustrating!

Enduser, understood, I often feel the same way.

Sadly the reviews are carried out as and when there's time and equipment available - and fee paying work comes first.

Has anyone found the B8850 for sale in the UK yet, at a price below HP's?

I had my own B9180 test print made in a local photo shop yesterday, and it seems fine, so I assume that the 8850 will be the same.

I don't know when they will be available. I don't have one, but just saw a small review by Jon Canfield here http://www.shutterbug.net/equipmentrevi ... rs/0508hp/

He says it's the same on print out. I assume it will be.

Hope the price comes in at well below the MSLP.

What's interesting in Canfeild's article is that the 8850 handles Harmon & Hahnemule baryta papers - both of which are heavier papers. In fact,if the street price is discounted as much as the 9180 is from the MSRP, then the average advanced hobbyist would gain very little by purchasing the big brother. It wouldn't surprise me to see the 9180 being replaced by a 17" version of the z2100.
