I have two 24" Samsung monitors and they produce accurate colours - once profiled with the Spyder. They also come with a three year guarantee.

If you spend a lot of time in front of your monitor, and if you do a fair amount of printing, the money spent on a good piece of equipment is money well spent. I don't know enough about the range of monitors available to you to make a recommendation of any model :D in particular, but I'm very glad I waited/saved until one of the top-end Dells came on sale at a price I could afford. It gives me pleasure every day.

The new Asus PA279Q ProArt which should be available in July looks interesting

27-inch WQHD panel 2560 x 1440 pixels offering 109ppi
Superior Colour Accuracy with six-axis independent adjustment, colour temperature control and gamma adjustment
10-bit RGB
100,000,000:1 contrast ratio
PIP (Picture in Picture) Mode
Built-in Stereo 3W Speakers, 3.5mm audio in and out

No idea about pricing but the "Asus PB278Q WQHD LED Professional Monitor 2560x1440" retails for £467, not sure if its the previous model. but also a lower resolution 24inch model available PA248QJ for about £400.

I have Sync Master 245b and the SyncMaster T240HD. I purchased one via Amazon and the other was given to me by Samsung. They are both excellent monitors, but do need to be profiled/calibrated to get the best results.

I`d have a look at the 2 NEC monitors (albeit only 23") offered by WEX in Norwich.

Yes, the NEC monitors are also very good, possibly better than the Samsung
