HP9180 review just posted for the curious

This is the opposite of out of the box review. Not only is it poorly done with Word exported html but the entire review is from my prototype with non-GM software, not even the same firmware or inks of shipping versions.
But it is a printer that we all seem to like. It is because of all the questions raised that I thought it may help to have a collection of discoveries with this little printer.
Please look to Vincents review for a lot more realistic and professional report.
And do ask away here whatever you like on the 9180.

It will be interesting to see a heads up comparason of the 9180 vs 2400.

I would like more details on made colorimetric. can you publish the gamut this printer, in comparison with one 2400, for example. if not, can you send a profile ICC to me (for paper shining), I could thus publish a chart. I see that you live Paris. If it comes you one day the desire for publishing your French review, I would have a pleasure of making known it on the French forum of photograph. And being every week on Paris, if one day you have a few minutes of free, it will be a pleasure of meeting you

I'm waiting for more info on this interesting printer before replacing my two i9100 Canons. It's the mono performance that really interests me especially on matt and 'fine art' papers, an area where the Canon's performance is poor.
Obviously the running costs are important, something that puts me off the 2400 but I've a bad feeling about those big HP cartridges.

The case design for the 28ml cartridges is similar to the DJ cartridges. They are a pumped design which insures consistent flow to the print heads, much more so than gravity on other similar printers.
Once with the DJ I had a chip on a new cart that said it was empty which HP warranty replaced.
Otherwise I can't see any problem the 28ml cartridges will pose other than good things like have you going to the store less often, taking up less space if you stock them and most important less landfill....

For the ICC profil, i I cannot make QT movie, if you can make it, with HP8750 vs Hp9180 vs Epson 2400 vs adobe rgb98, it's very good idea.
if you have not the time for this, please send me a generic profil for glossy paper/mat paper of Hp9180.
for the translation, i want try, I keep you informed .

I just sent the profiles to my .mac account iDisc as the movie was 280Mb which would overgo my bandwith.

These are fine art media more or less the same media styles.
Rather than going for Glossy media, I see too many users trying to see what the maximum gamut is then saying they'd never use glossy.
If you use glossy, best to use dye in my opinion.
Yet on fine art no choice for permanence other than pigment.
