Canvas "paper" for the 1400

Postby DonaldS » Wed Jul 25, 2007 11:24 pm

My Epson 1400 continues to perform its printing chores in an excellent manner.

I have been using a lot of 11 X 17 canvas "paper", (Fredrix Desktop Inkjet Canvas, #3522) but I now wish to move up the a larger size.

Does anyone know where I might purchase this larger size canvas paper? (I may have to go a wee bit larger than the 1400's 13 X 19 size and trim a larger size down.) I live in rural Nebraska, so, giving me the name of any of the national chain stores won't work I'm afraid. I don't want to go to one of the web sites that sell me prints on canvas - I am thinking more along the lines of Web sites that sell paper and I'll do the printing myself.

Thanks for your continued help in my Epson printing endeavors.

I purchased my 1400 over six months ago and have been pleased with the results using glossy photo paper. I recently tried canvas inkjet fabric )8.5X11inches, brand name:Inkworks creative series). The printer took only one sheet (reluctantly) in over 20 tries. I tried the Epson technical support which was unhelpful. I did not find any information in the owner's manual. What, or where, are the settings for thicker printing stock?
Thank you,

Donald, you can try some of the big online photo-stores, like Adorama, B&H.

I did a quick seach for canvas at Adorama, www.adorama.com, they have Inkpress stretchable canvas listed in 13x19 as well as on 24"x40' rolls. Should keep you going for a while.

How thick is this canvas you are trying to use?
I’m confused because I don’t think the 1400 is designed to print on very thick media, so I’m not sure exactly what this “canvas paper” is that Donald refers to above.

Along with the other Epsons that share the same chassis you either have CD printing OR a straight through lower path for media up to 1.3mm, but not both together. The limit for the 1400 seems to be 255gsm, which equates to about 0.5mm.
