Shutter cycles

Postby davidgaynor » Sun Sep 21, 2008 7:41 pm

Hello.
Can anyone tell me how to find out how many shutter cycles my D200 has gone through?

Regards,

David Gaynor.

On the D70, it's in the exif as Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera - towards the end of the list in Opanda Iexif viewer (a free download). I found a web post saying the D200 was the same, but don't have a D200 file to check with.

Kevin is correct, I just checked on one of my D200 images using Opanda IEXIF viewer v2.

Thanks for that, lads.
I'll borrow a Windows OS and give it a go. I'm selling my D200 and want to add a selling point.

David, if you send me a jpeg - or a link to one, I can look at it for you. Just make sure the exif isn't stripped out. Opanda will only work on jpegs, unless you buy the full version.

Brilliant, Kev.
I'll do it later if I may.
I'm just off into Manchester to get some portraits in pubs. Wish me luck. Maybe I should hire a bodyguard.

Kev, it's a diddy file that I've sent. Hope it's ok to use.

David,
That is a compressed thumbnail. As such, much of the exif data is missing (frankly, I'm surprised it has any at all). What we need is the original file emailed to either Kev or me, or a direct link to the original file. (....unless I've missed something here)

PS, clever idea, Kev. I never thought of it. You one-upper, you.
Cheers,

How do I e-mail it to either of you fellas ?
Don't I need an e-mail address to send it to ? I squeezed it because I could only find the attach facility. Plus, all my originals are RAW so will I need to shoot one in jpeg and send that ?
Forgive me for being a thicko ( I'm sure I've had to say that before ) but I need to know where to send it.

Regards,
David.
P.S. Hope this isn't more trouble than it's worth for you .

David,
Check your PM and email me at will! :)

He he, that wasn't necessary. You could just click my user name at right and press the email me button. I over complicate everything.

I think Greg's said it all. Not sure where the full exif went. Some editors chop it completely.

We've got an email icon that'll give you our addreses.

Long time since I was drinking in Manchester. There's one pub, panelled in the remains fo the R100 airship, lovely interior. Somewhere north of Picadilly, I think. Can't remember the name, could probably find it if I was there. About the only one I really remember is the Auld Reekie, on market st - if it's there. The Shambles is too touristy and twee for me. Still, there are many good brews around there.

Kev , the Auld Reekie vanished many, many years ago. I used to go down into it's bowels regularly, during my time at college in the mid-seventies. The Shambles was moved brick by brick to a place behind the Cathedral, after the 1996 IRA bomb. If you haven't been back to Manchester for a few years, you'd do well to recognise it as the city you left.
I've e-mailed a picture to Greg and hopefully I'll get an answer from him. He's explained why I can't see his ( and your ) e-mail.

Thanks for the continued help on all things photographic.

David.

Ah well, can't win them all. I used to go in for a pint on a satuday lunch time while I was doing my saturday job at Pauldens (as it was then).
Have been to the moved Shambles. But you're right about the changes. Went in once last summer, could hardly find my way around. And the new bus station to replace the nearly new bus station... Talk about throwing money away. And I still couldn't find the bus stops to get home - they were all over the place. One big improvement is the museum at the old Liverpool road station. That I approve of!
