2400 won't show Glossy papers

Postby KevinW » Sun Mar 26, 2006 6:18 pm

My 2400 refuses to show any of the glossy papers even after inserting a PK cartridge. Only plain and matte papers show. Any idea what could cause this?

Thanks,

Kevin

I have had exactly the same problem. You have to push the cartridge in quite firmly, as well as the grey plastic hinged cover over the cartridges.

All you need to do is to go to the maintenance tab in the printing preferences and click on the status monitor button. It's a good idea to do a nozzle check if you have changed the ink anyway.

Paula

good idea, however does it always work? Tried it a few times when I had the problem on the 2100 and went there to see if it was seeing the cartridge correctly, it was, but didn't get teh papers right

When I have changed mat/photo I always get wrong list on the first print

All I do is go into the R2400 setup from photoshop print preview and click OK for any of the the settings. I then get a message that says the paper is not available - going back into setup then shows the correct list of papers.

It looks to me that Epson have done a poor job of writing the drivers and only check which carts are in on exit of setup and not on entry!
I doubt that they will fix it in the short term as good support seems to be a long way down thier list of priorities
