Bill Atkinson's Abstract vision

Bill Atkinson has been exploring the colors and shapes that nature creates within minerals. "With the help of a diamond saw and flat lap polisher, I have been revealing and photographing these abstract designs that, to me, look more like paintings than photographs. I hope others enjoy them too". Bill is now working on a coffee table art book, titled "Within The Stone, Nature's Abstract Rock Art".
Bill's latest work has just gone on display at Cafe Barrone, in Menlo Park, CA, next to Kepler's Bookstore at intersection of El Camino Real and Santa Cruz Ave.

Although all the pictures were taken with medium and large format film cameras, Bill has used digital technology for the final production.
photo-i thanks Bill for making these exquisite images available to us and we wish him every success with the exhibition.

Footnote.

Bill Atkinson has completed a huge undertaking of making excellent profiles for the new Epson Stylus Pro 7600 and 9600 printers. With these profiles, the Stylus Pro 7600 and 9600 are the first inkjet printers that make fine art prints just as beautiful as those from the LightJet. The print display life is about 80 years, and being able to make the prints in his studio is a real plus. Since all 7600 and 9600 printers are engineered to print the same within two deltaE, the profiles Bill has painstakingly created for the 9600 & 7600, will work great for anyone who has one of these printers.

Bill has made these premium profiles available as a free gift to the entire Epson community. They can be downloaded from the Epson support site at
