Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008

It's not very often that I attend an exhibition that impresses me, over the last ten years I can only think of a handful of shows that have had a lasting impression. Last night (17 Nov 08)I attended the opening of the Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008 exhibition. I was taken back with the sheer quality of work, the pictures are stunning and an inspiration to anyone interested in photography and the beauty of our landscape. All the prints were made on the new Epson Stylus Pro 9900, the colours and neutrality of B/W prints are something that you must see. This is a show not to be missed, it's free and it runs until 17 January 2009. Make a point of visiting it.

If you can't make it to London, then you can buy the superbly printed book - Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008 - see our link at the bottom of this page for a special price.

The 2008 Awards are supported by the leading tourist agencies of the UK – Enjoy England, Visit Wales, VisitScotland, VisitBritain, Britain on View, VisitGuernsey, Jersey Tourism, and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board. Their support has meant that news of this year’s competition reached all corners of the nation and entries were received from places as geographically diverse as the Shetland Isles and the Isle of Wight. The final results have proved that there is certainly beauty and interest to be had wherever you travel.

Charlie Waite, one of Britain’s best-loved landscape photographers & founder of Take a view, says: “ Having seen the standard of this year’s entries at first-hand, I cannot wait to see the exhibition. The National Theatre is an amazing venue and the support we have received from Epson will help to ensure that the winning images are seen at their very best.”
