Get in on the action, with a 5x zoom
Unshakeable power with
the Olympus µ (mju) 740 and µ (mju) 750
London, 23 August 2006 – Anyone who wants to get close to the action should take a good look at the µ (mju) 740 and µ (mju) 750 from Olympus. Both cameras feature a new 5x zoom lens, which is great for scrutinising objects that are a bit further away, and a 7.1 million pixel CCD for photos bursting with detail – all squeezed into tiny weatherproof* metal bodies. To make the most of its powerful zoom, the µ (mju) 750 even features Dual Image Stabilization to safeguard against blurring caused by camera shake. And both models have been equipped with 23 special scene modes to make many familiar photo situations easier and they perform particularly well in low light. The µ (mju) 740 and µ (mju) 750 are available in a choice of colours and will be in UK stores from September, priced at around £260.00 for the µ (mju) 740, and £300.00 for the µ (mju) 750. For stockist information call 0800 0720070 or visit www.olympus.co.uk.
The Olympus µ (mju) 740 and µ (mju) 750 look gorgeous and are available in a choice of colours – Moonlight Silver, Twilight Blue or Sunset Red for the µ (mju) 740, and Starry Silver or Midnight Black for the µ (mju) 750. Their gently tapered design makes them a treat to hold, but anyone thinking that their good looks are just skin deep should beware! Inside these beauties are a beast of a lens and a 7.1 million pixel CCD that together deliver razor-sharp photographs.
The versatile 5x, zoom lens on the µ (mju) 740 and µ (mju) 750 is great for capturing more general scenes and then zooming in to scrutinise specific details. So that photographs always look their best, the µ (mju) 750 has been equipped with Dual Image Stabilization to help avoid camera shake. This remarkable feature uses a built-in gyro sensor to detect if the camera moves as the shutter is pressed. If it does, the position of the CCD is shifted slightly to compensate for this. The second safeguard against camera shake is also available on the µ (mju) 740; both cameras’ sensitivity to light is increased so that faster shutter speeds can be used to reduce the effect of the camera moving.
Achieving great results on the µ (mju) 740 and µ (mju) 750 couldn’t be easier, as a choice of 23 special scene modes have been included to cover just about every common photo situation, including Beach&Snow, Fireworks, and Sports. Operating these cameras is pretty straightforward, but should anyone need a reminder of what a particular function does, they can turn to the built-in Guide Function for help. This explains the cameras’ main functions directly on the LCD screen – a bit like having the instruction book built in!
Thanks to the BrightCapture Technology included on the µ (mju) 740 and µ (mju) 750, framing and taking photos under low-light conditions is no longer a haphazard affair, as their high contrast 6.4cm LCD screens are around 4x brighter than normal, making aiming the cameras much easier. The same technology is also put to good use improving both photos and movie clips taken in low light. This makes capturing the true atmosphere of candle-lit dinners, indoor parties, or other night scenes much easier – particularly with still photos, as flash is not always necessary.
An underwater case is available for either the µ (mju) 740 or µ (mju) 750 so that the cameras can play a part in today’s more active lifestyles. The Olympus PT-034 Underwater Case will take them down to depths of 40m, so that even creatures of the deep won’t escape the gaze of that 5x zoom!
Great ergonomic design, a choice of colours, exceptional zoom performance and BrightCapture Technology. It may be the µ (mju) 750 that features the mechanical image stabiliser, but both models are unshakeable when it comes to looks and versatility. The new µ (mju) 740 and µ (mju) 750 will be in UK stores from September 2006, priced at around £260.00 and £300.00 respectively.
