Driver installation
The B9180 can be connected via a USB or Ethernet cable. For this installation I will be using the USB port, but I will also install it on a network later in the review. The installation is a simple matter of just following the instructions on screen. The entire installation time took about 12 minutes.

As does this one in when launching Photoshop |
No major problems were encountered, the entire process was very simple. For the initial installation I didn't install any of the extra software, other than the Photoshop Plug-in (a dedicated page for that item will follow later in the review). You can choose to do a full install at any stage by reinserting the CD. I ran the installation CD again and chose to install all the applications. The only extra item that seems to have been installed is HP Photosmart Premier. This is a very good image management application, but the basic features are better suited to the average home/hobbyist printer.

HP Photosmart Premier - it's good, but possibly not advanced enough for a B9180 user |
