Setting Up

As mentioned earlier, the B8850 I have here is a pre-production model and has already had the inks and print heads fitted prior to delivery. The full production model will not be pre fitted with inks and heads - unfortunately I can't test this process out for you, so I will try to give you as much information as possible.

Fortunately the drivers CD has a series of animated tutorials which guides the user through the entire installation process.

This screen shows what should be in the box.

Hover your mouse over any item and a POP-UP banner tells you what it is

An animated handshake tells you shake and not stir the inks - keep the wrapper on

Just in case you missed a step - don't forget to connect the printer to the mains supply.

Now you can connect the USB cable

All in all the installation step by step guide is very good, you would have to have a hefty hang over to do something wrong. Once the hardware has been connected up the software begins its installation, this took around 12 minutes on my XP system.
