Object scanning

I had one reader write in saying he didn't like the scan I did of Barbie, as it didn't show the real depth of focus the scanner was capable of, he suggested I use a ruler at an angle to show how the focus fell off......YAWN! I like to keep my readers happy, so I have not included Barbie this time, instead I have used her partner Ken.

Muted Ken

Small depth of focus

Placing 3D objects on a flatbed scanner is not quite the same as taking a photograph, but at a pinch it might just do. The depth of focus on the Canon is very small, the eyes are in focus but not the hair, I don't know what has happened to the end of Ken's nose, I promise I didn't shove his face into the glass. Colours are extremely muted, Ken's jacket is almost sky blue (it is a child's toy and they don't tend to be subtle).

Readers questions and pictures.
