Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI

The new version of Corel Paint Shop Pro XI has a similar interface as the previous version PSP X (what is it with computer companies that compels them to use roman numerals). The tools are identical, perhaps a few minor tweaks in the actual appearance on some of the option icons, but behind the interface is where you can find some exciting new features.

Easy to follow interface with excellent Learning centre

Although the learning centre is not new, I like the new compact look which is docked on the left hand side of the screen. This can be dragged away and placed on another edge. The learning centre is an excellent feature which is full of useful image editing information and other application tips, these change to match the tool currently in use. As a bonus there is also a two hour training CD from Lynda.com.

Although I have only just received this new updated version of PSP XI, on launching it a small pop-up window popped up telling me an update was available. The update includes a fix for Windows Vista compatibility (anyone using Vista?), plus support for opening RAW files from 10 new camera models and other application enhancements (read bug fixes).
