I do not have the X-Rite i1 here at the moment, but I will bear this in mind. Just as an extra note. The Spyder4 Calibrates a monitor as well as creating a profile. The competitors colorimeters only profile the monitor.

Being a semi satisfied user of the Spyder3 Pro, I would really like to see a side-by-side comparison of the 4 Elite with x-rite's i1 Display Pro.

The 1500 is the better printer, although the photo quality difference will not be that great. If it is the choice between the two then I would go for the latest model, the 1400 has been around for some time and will probably be dropped from Epson's line up at some time in the near future.

Hi,

I am planning to get a wide-format printer and came across your review of the Epson 1500W.

Question is whether this new printer is any better than Epson 1390/1400 in terms of output quality? From what I'm reading, it seems that the output quality are quite similar, but the new printer cannot print on heavier papers while 1390/1400 can.

Would love to hear your views regarding 1500W vs 1390/1400.

Cheers!
KG from Singapore

Hi
What is the Max GSM weight the printer supports? Also, which Claria cartridges are compatible?
thanks

That could be a good idea. I have fond memories of my Retina 111C which I bought in 1959. It was reliable with accurate metering and rangefinder. It was in regular use for nearly 20 years before I sold it. It had two drawbacks. 1 Weight, being hewn from solid brass! It would fit nicly in a pocket but weigh it down badly. 2 The interchangable lens trap. When using the telephoto lens, 80mm, or wide angle lens, 35mm, you had to find the distance then transfer it to another scale for which ever lens was attached. Close ups were good and easy down to 1.5:1 using a set of lenses and rods. A beautyful beast.

The Canon Legria range of camcorders will produce excellent results, I used one extensively last year. You might also want to take a look at the Panasonic range, they will launch some new models very shortly.

Will publish my review on the 1500W later today, just need to scan in the prints first. Unfortunately I have to sit next to the scanner, this hasn't got WiFi :)
